The Story
Nor-Son is a Minnesota-based custom home builder and commercial construction company with a focus on crafting comfortable, quality environments. For decades, Nor-Son was considered a regional builder that specialized in residential homes and cabins. When I started working with them, they were looking to elevate their brand and expand their business into other markets.
Nor-Son had a tiny internal marketing department but no creative team. For many years, I was their one-person agency, partnering with their internal team on hundreds of projects. As an extension of the company, I worked side-by-side with their CMO and CEO, providing everything from strategic direction and ideas, to creative execution and production on various advertising and marketing projects.
Nor-Son had a logo, a color, and a photo library but not much else. Working with their executive team, I uncovered the company’s brand DNA and helped develop a visual look and authentic voice that reflected its mission and values.
The work transformed Nor-Son into a brand with warmth and heart, conveying the company’s deep understanding of how humans feel about the spaces in which they live and work.
The new brand and marketing materials gave Nor-Son a more professional, sophisticated visual style and a unique voice that stood out from its competitors. It established the company as an industry leader, generated more high-quality leads, and helped Nor-Son expand into new markets.
