The One behind Agency of One.

Originally from New York but now based in Minneapolis, Mark Zukor brings over two decades of award-winning creative marketing expertise to every project. He received a master's degree in advertising from the VCU BrandCenter, and has taught classes at Brainco: the Minneapolis School of Advertising and Design. His experience includes working with top national agencies and large, well-known brands. Outside of work, he loves playing tennis and pickleball, and rocking out on the electric guitar.

The kind of personal attention that only
a one-person agency can provide.

As an independent creative, I can operate in ways larger agencies can’t. Like working side-by-side with business owners, marketing directors, and sales managers. This leads to a deeper, more collaborative, and trusted partnership that makes working together – and creating better outcomes – easier.

It also means that, unlike a larger agency, I can seamlessly integrate with an internal marketing team, providing strategic guidance, creative direction, and marketing support as required. So you get the help you need without having to hire a full-time creative director.

 FAQs

  • Yes! But occasionally, no. As a creative marketing pro with a uniquely diverse skill set, I can handle most requests myself. But, if a project requires specialized skills, I can call on my trusted network of hand-picked industry experts. Even so, you'll always have me as your single point of contact to keep things simple.

  • A freelancer typically handles one type of service. For example, there are freelance graphic designers, freelance copywriters, freelance web developers, etc. Agency of One is different because while I provide the simplicity and low overhead of a freelancer, I offer clients a broad range of services equal to most small agencies.

  • It typically goes like this: You and I start by discussing the project, budget, timeline, and goals. From there, I'll create an estimate and a schedule with checkpoints along the way. If everything looks good, you'll sign a contract, pay a deposit, and I'll get to work.

Depending on the project, I may schedule working sessions with you or your team. Or, if I'm on my own, I'll stay in touch along the way, so you always know how things are progressing.

  • It depends on my current workload and your deadline. I can often turn small projects and revisions in a day or two. Larger projects may take a week or two or more. I'll always give you a timeline at the start and will keep you informed along the way. Barring an earthquake or alien invasion, I'll deliver your project on time or ahead of schedule.

  • Ah yes, the pricing question! First, it depends on whether you hire Agency of One on a per-project or a retainer basis. Please get in touch if you're interested in learning about retainers and I'll email you a detailed info sheet with package options and pricing. In general, retainers start at $2,000 per month.

For individual projects, I charge a set project fee. Sometimes, I'll provide a price range to allow for the unexpected. If a project grows beyond the original estimate, I'll send a revised estimate based on the new scope.

It's always helpful when a client provides a budget guideline to help the estimating process. Since projects exist to achieve a specific objective, a budget helps determine to what level the objective can be met. It's kind of like buying a house. You can get one for $100K or $100 million. It all depends on what you want and what you can spend. You need to know both.

To give you a few pricing examples, a standard brand identity package costs $5K, websites typically fall in the $5K-$25K range, and brochures are usually $2K-$5K, depending on the complexity.
