The Story

Constellation Mutual (now Curi) is a medical liability insurance company that operates in 47 states. The company was looking to reposition itself as a caring, understanding solutions provider instead of just an insurance company. Among other things, they wanted a new ad campaign to build excitement and communicate their new brand position.

Constellation hired me and two other marketing consultants. Together, our nimble mini agency worked with the marketing director to provide creative strategy, campaign ideas, and other deliverables, along with creative direction and guidance for the company’s internal marketing department. The work served as a strategic and creative foundation for the internal team to develop a range of extensions based on the look and messaging we developed.

Constellation’s marketing director wanted to reposition the brand. It was our job to figure out how. To start, we developed an aspirational brand book that distilled everything the refreshed brand stood for.

From there, we distilled the brand even further, creating a simple, emotional, and versatile ad campaign that communicated Constellation’s empathetic, customer-centric approach.

Constellation loved the work. Together with their in-house designers, we developed brochures, trade show materials, direct mail pieces, presentation templates, and email marketing campaigns – all based on the big idea we created.

Constellation felt the campaign and other materials truly reflected the emotional heart of their brand and firmly positioned the company as a caring solutions provider. The work connected deeply with its target audience, instilled pride among employees and stakeholders, and made it easier for the sales team to communicate the company’s value.
